Red Pocket for Chinese Journalists

In the Chinese PR world, the “travel fee” refers to a sum of money contained in a blank envelope provided by a PR agency for journalists when they attend press activities. The amount of money is higher than “travel” around in China. It is more for “appreciation” for press to spare time to attend the press event. So, the travel fee just like a red pocket. Usually, the travel fee is RMB 300 (US$ 45) for journalists attending the press events. The travel fee is packed in a blank envelope, put into press kit before it is handed to reporters after he/she signs on the registration form.
